Hold on!

I've run out of space at my current web host. Hence, I haven't been posting much lately, although I've had things to say, so hold your horses.

Some changes will be coming to eWall.org... I'm moving to another hosting company and upgrading much of the site at the same time. Stay tuned!

Wow... just a day later, Ainsley is in the news, too, and not from the "usual" reporter who covers youth issues.

She's too cool for me.

One of YOUTHINK star members, Kate Curley, is in the newspaper today. Yea, Kate! (Don't miss it—the link won't last long!)

Have you seen this flim?

Inspired by Rocketboom and missing my friend John who I haven't talked to much lately, I wrote and directed a film for him.

Sorry if it doesn't all make sense—there may be some inside jokes. Also, it's in Hindi or Urdu or something, but you can read the English subtitles... ;)

You should definitely check out the new Yahoo! Maps beta. Yes, it's very Googl-ish, but maybe some improvements. And I read somewhere recently (shoot, I forget) that Yahoo! Maps give you the best directions anyway.

On my drive in to work a couple mornings ago I was greeted by the frantically flashing lights of a car going the other way which, as you may figure, prompted me to slow down.

Not that I was going that fast, mind you. Last year I sort of gave up speeding. Really. I just don't need to speed anymore. Ironically, it was only after I stopped speeding that a 3-year old speeding ticket caught up with me and raised the cost of my auto insurance; they say they only check our driving records "randomly"—gee thanks, I thought I'd already paid my debt to society.

I didn't always used to be so chill, so turtle-like (ha!). I remember a discussion when I used to do a volunteer Bible study at the Windham prison, where someone asked, "Is it a sin to go over the speed limit?" My friend Dave immediately replied: "Well, if Eric's driving, you're definitely sinning!" Oh.

Ainsley's YOUTHINK is in the news... again... the media hogs! ...with a bit about their Big Checks Ceremony at City Hall last week. Check out Planting the Seed while you can, because our silly newspaper doesn't keep their online archives very long.

(Those of you with very keen eyes might see a snatch of Ainsley's hair in one of the pictures. You'll have to have better vision than that to see any quotes from her this time, tho—which, actually, is kinda cool, since all the quotes in the article are from the youth and not the adults.)

(Yes, I called Ainsley an adult. Don't laugh!)

It's Christmas all over again! One of the Christmas presents which I've been very excited about has arrived: my first issue of a Paste Magazine subscription. Beauteous!

The gift was pretty much the first and most important thing I begged for this past Christmas, and my father-in-law got it for me. Funny thing, he's got a similar sense of humor to mine, and I totally missed it when I unwrapped a bottle of rubber cement and he said to me, "This is because the store was out of paste, and the subscription won't start until March." I was scratching my head for a minute, until finally we all started laughing so hard. Paste! Oh, I get it!

Handy little utility to change your MAC address for any NIC in Windoze. Works better than a charm. (Do you actually know a charm that works?)

This one is GPL'ed (read: free) unlike the costly SMAC. For something as simple as a registry edit and connection refresh, this is not worth paying for, people!

(Reminds me of my geeking out the other night, where I decided to write my own wallpaper switcher; it's script-based so it can be run by Task Scheduler and not hog resources like all those systray do-dads.)

Remember last fall when I realized that old pages on the site had comment spam? Guess what?: I didn't really fix it then! Turns out I hadn't really disabled anonymous comments. Doh!

Anyway, I cleaned it up again (this time by editing the database, which is very fast). So no more crappy comments, okay?
