I know that the prevalence of Microsoft Windows throughout businesses world-wide means that Windows admins are a dime a dozen. But a really good Windows admin—who truly knows his or her stuff—is worth every penny.

In my experience from consulting in both larger multi-national corporations and small businesses in midcoast Maine, I have found a few topics that are important to maintaining a smooth-running Windows domain but are widely misunderstood or ignored. Some of these articles I have written for use in peer training “lunch-and-learn”-style meetings; others I have written just for the web at large. In any case, I hope you find them useful.
